Description
For a durable, economical powered air respirator starter kit use 3M Powered Air Respirator System Starter Kit PF-619E. This kit includes a 3M PF-600E turbo unit, charger and belt. The 3M PF-600E turbo unit features audible and visual alarms that alert the user to low battery or if the flow rate falls below the manufacturer’s minimum design flow rate of 160 l/min. The unit incorporates a simple button operation and the button is shielded to prevent accidental shut-off. It’s designed to be compatible with a range of headtops and hoods, including some of the 3M Versaflo M-Series faceshields and helmets, Versaflo S-Series Hoods and Headcovers, tight fitting 3M Promask FM3 and 3M Vision FM4 Full facepieces. The PAPR can be used with the 3M DT-Series range of filters. The unit has an IP 65 rating with filters and decontamination plugs fitted to the filter and hose ports, making it suitable for cleaning by showering/water spray. The integrated battery is safely enclosed within the turbo unit casing and is rechargeable in-situ.

Did you know?
- According to HSE Guidance (HSG53), all users of negative pressure tight-fitting masks should take a break at least every hour to reduce the risk of wearer fatigue. Wearing powered air respirators removes this need and so employees can work continuously, more comfortably for longer durations.
- Employees who have a beard or facial hair are not suitable to use tight-fitting negative pressure respirators, therefore the recommended alternative is Powered Air respiratory systems. Powered Air Respirators, when worn with loose-fitting head tops, are a convenient alternative solution, allowing users to retain facial hair and have a high level of protection against hazards.
- Powered Air Respirators are cooler. Heat levels within a powered air respirator head top are lower than using negative pressure as breath exhalation can cause heat build-up within the mask. Powered air respirators are fan assisted, providing a cooling effect for wearers.
